Sudar Oli a brand of sanitary napkin recently introduced by deputy chief minister M K Stalin has hit the markets Selling over five lakh napkins a month across the state members of the self-help group women’s federation have been involved in a training to market their product on a par with corporate companies Ms Leema Rajamani a well known entrepreneur at Anjugramam neighbourhood in Kanyakumari says We learnt that several brands use wood pulp for the production of napkins But we use pure cotton fiber which will degrade faster than the others We want to take this message to girl students in various schools and colleges Our members will be trained in marketing and communication skills for this Ms Rajamani is also the treasurer of Sudar Oli in the costal district A renowned master trainer in sanitary napkin production in the country Ms R Nagalakshmi said over 30000 napkins were produced in each district by the SHGs She said the SHG women were also taking their product to stores in the metros |
